Independent agency to investigate police-involved shooting in Kamloops

A man has died in a police shooting in Kamloops and the incident is being investigated by the Independent Investigations Office of B.C.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. will be looking into a police-involved shooting that left a man dead on Friday.

Mounties received a report of a suspicious and possibly impaired man near a camper trailer around 4:30 p.m. The man was seen about 3 km past the Rose Hill Subdivision. The officers arrived at the location and “there was a reported exchange of gun fire,” according to an RCMP news release.
