BLACK TRANS & QUEER LIVES MATTER

Background

A Black Trans Man was shot and killed by a Tallahassee police officer a few days ago. Montreal North, the worst Covid hotspot in Canada is a predominantly Black neighbourhood. Cops, Covid-19, Systemic Racism & Transphobia Kill. And we're going to make sure that BLACK TRANS & QUEER LIVES MATTER.

Tony McDade, a Black Trans Man was shot and killed by a Tallahassee police officer Wednesday, May 27. Gay Black musician & drag queen Nashom Wooden died in NYC of complications related to COVID-19 on March 23. What's the link between police violence and COVID-19? Is the kind of structural racism that turns places like Mtl Nord into a COVID-19 hotspot related to other forms of anti-Blackness? How does anti-Blackness super-charge homophobia & transphobia? Come listen to the voices of the families of vicitims of police killings. Come listen to a young Trans Man racially profiled, beaten & assaulted by our brave SPVM, Come listen to our artists and poets. Come meditate with us. Come pray with us. Come get ready to fight for what's right.
