"POLICE STATE": Special 2021 Edition to mark the 25th anniversary of the International Day Against Police Brutality

This March 15th 2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the International Day Against Police Brutality (JICBP). The COBP would like to highlight this fact by organizing activities and events that will take place throughout 2021 as well as the usual week against police brutality organized in anticipation of the yearly March 15th march.

In this spirit we'd like to invite everyone who has been involved in some capacity or another, those who have followed along these years, and of those who share the same sentiment that the COBP has fought for these last 25 years to participate in activities, come to the anti-police brutality protest, and to contribute something for the "Etat Policier" journal's Special 25th Anniversary Edition.

We look forward to publishing your written texts, comics, drawings, photos, poems, and whatever else you think would go well to highlight years of struggle against the vicious agents of the state.

Note that due to the pandemic the journal well initially be published online on our website, with publications being added throughout the years. We will be physically publishing our journal at a later date than usual to ensure that eventual distribution will respect common sense public health measures. The alternative of producing our journal in PDF form with select articles is also envisioned for those that wish for a digital, fully corona safe experience. The theme of 2021's publication will be "Police Abolition" and highlight who specifically is targeted by the bourgeois, colonial police force: Indigenous nations, anti-colonial activists, houseless people, migrants and immigrants, to say nothing of the protection of industry directly destroying our environment.

We ask that the texts for the journal contains a maximum of two pages and be in French, English, Spanish, or in an Indigenous Language. We ask that authors/artists who wish to translate their own texts do so in a reasonable time for publication, otherwise we will find a way of translating it ourselves so as to fit within the eventual publication date. We invite you to also add photos/designs etc with your texts if you please. These photos/drawings will not be counted in the two page limit either! If you just want us to publish your work online (not in print) then no worries, send us whatever length project you wish to!

All works which the author/creator wishes to have published in our physical print editions are due no later than March 1st of this year, 2021.

submit your texts/photos/designs/etc. to cobp@riseup.net

Solidarity forever!
