Police shooting in Gaspé probed by Quebec's independent investigation unit

Quebec's independent investigation unit has launched an investigation after a man was shot by police in a commercial parking lot overnight in the Gaspé.

According to the Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI), the 32-year-old man was holding a "blunt object" and rushed toward the officers during an intervention early Sunday.

The officers shot the man at least once. He is expected to survive.
