More than three years after Myles Gray died in a confrontation with Vancouver police, his mother Margie Gray said she hopes justice will be served.
On Wednesday, a B.C. civilian police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Office, asked Crown counsel to consider laying charges in Gray’s death in a Burnaby backyard on Aug. 13, 2015.
“It is my hope as well as Myles’s family and friends that this horrific crime against Myles leads to charges against the VPD officers … ” wrote Margie on the Justice for Myles Gray Facebook page.
Gray, a 33-year-old floral wholesaler from Sechelt, was making deliveries in Vancouver that day. Vancouver police received a complaint of a man spraying a woman with a garden hose in the 3600-block Southeast Marine Drive.
